Our 30th Pro Am Competition, run in conjunction with the Yorkshire PGA took place on Wednesday 2nd June. Forty, four man teams, all of which included a Professional, competed for Individual and team prizes.
The course was in fantastic condition as the rain over the previous few days and subsequent warm sunny conditions enabled the greens staff to present the course at its best.
The course and weather were condusive to almost perfect golfing conditions and this was reflected in the scores returned. £500 was on offer for breaking the course record and Alex Belt from Bridlington pushed to do just that eventually matching the previous best of 63, whilst Nick Stead of Shipley in the last team on the course returned a 64. Our own Professional, Nigel Hirst returned a very creditable 68.
The Team prize was won by the team representing "Needles Inn" with a score of 119, 23 under par! 5 shots back were A to Z Business Managers & Consultants along with a team from Shipley Golf Club.
The evening concluded with a prize presentation and entertainment provided in the Pinnacle suite at Dewsbury District Golf Club.
