The inaugural Home International took place on Sunday the 30th of August,in perfect weather conditions for golf.

Teams comprised of 10 players per team, representing Scotland, England Ireland and Wales.

All the players dressed in the national colours,navy,white,green or red.

The Irish team captain, Mick McGrath had provided not only the green shirts for his team but also pitch repairers and ball markers, which visibly motivated the Irish team on the 1st tee!

The Scotland Captain Rick Towler issued his team will Scottish ball markers, and bottles of Irn Bru to spur on his team on.Paul Clapton the England Captain had spent hours selecting his pairings and communicating through What’s App to conjure up a top performance from his team who were pre match favourites, and David Hayman the Welsh Captain didn’t use any special motivational tactics, just simply used his’golfing know how ‘ to some how forge together the winning combinations from his players!

The result , after one of the five cards was discarded was Scotland, 175 (wooden spoon) England ,177, Ireland,184, Wales,187 (trophy)

After the match a tremendous meal was provided, the courses representing all the home nations, after which the Country Captains speeches followed, and the trophy and wooden spoon were accepted,accompanied with the appropriate cheers and jeers.

The event was a great success and, for now, Wales have the bragging rights, however the rivalry will continue when the Countries will clash again next year.
