Apologies for taking a while to report back on the Burns Night but i can tell you from the feedback we have received it was a resounding success.

Highlights of the evening included the THREE Pipers playing as you entered the clubhouse and Pinnacle Suite. Ian Welsh reciting the Selkirk Grace, the Piping in of the Haggis which was presented by Andrew Hargreaves before we enjoyed a traditional “Burns Supper” that included Haggis Neeps and Tatties.
Then the ceremonial part of the evening commenced with The Immortal Memory by Stuart Grant followed by Tam O’Shanter by David Smith before The Captains, Rick sort of proposed a “toast to the lassies” and our Lady Captain, Rebecca replied on behalf of the lassies.
We were then treated to a magnificent unaided reciting of “A Man’s a Man for a’ that” by Stuart Grant followed by “Holy Willies Prayer” by David Smith and finished off with “Best O Burns” “performed” by both Stuart and David who the Captain had brought down from Glasgow especially for this Supper and has had it planned for almost a year.
The speeches closed with the Rick Thanking alot of people but a BIG THANK YOU should be given to Mr Captain, Rick Towler for all the time and effort he has put into firstly ensuring we had a “Burns Night Supper” and secondly by making it an event to be remembered.
Of course that was not the end of things as “Fiddlers Green” provided entertainment to dance and sing along to.
A truly memorable night at DDGC!
